Standard Session: Daniel works on the 45-minute hour . This formula allows him to take clinical notes and reflect on themes and ways to meet treatment goals.
For clients 16 years old and younger, Daniel requests an appointment with parents every 4 to 6 sessions to evaluate progress and to help find the best ways to understand the child so that they can thrive. These session provide a way for the parents to become more involved in the child’s treatment and to find new ways to help them succeed.
Sliding Scale/Discount Rate: In an effort to support all who wish to work for personal change, Daniel reserves a number of sliding-scale spaces in his practice for those clients who would greatly benefit from his service. If you feel like you would benefit from working with Daniel but are currently unable to pay the standard rate, please inquire about this sliding scale. He is committed to working with you to find a solution that takes into account the financial hardship some people experience while seeking therapy. Daniel believes therapy should be accessible, please let him know if cost is a barrier.
Insurance Reimbursement: Daniel does not bill insurance directly but can provide a monthly statement that you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. Many of his clients find that a large portion of their therapy is covered by insurance. If you are planning to seek insurance reimbursement, you will want to contact your provider before the start of therapy to verify your out-of-network coverage information (Specifically, what is the reimbursement rate for an out-of-network provider?). Additionally, insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis, which he can provide, in order to qualify for reimbursement. Daniel would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding reimbursement and diagnosis before our first session.
Forms of Payment: Most of Daniel’s clients choose to pay for services using credit and debit cards or Health Savings Accounts. However, he also accepts cash and personal checks. Health Savings Accounts can be used to pay for medical expenses, such as therapy, and can often significantly decrease the cost of treatment.
Tax Deductions: Medical expenses, including out-of-pocket costs for psychotherapy, can often be deducted on your income taxes.
Cancellation Policy: Daniel requires a 24-hour notice. Missed appointments or failure to give notice will be billed at the cost of a full session. If the client arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time and be charged at the rate of a full session.
